The 80th Independence Day of Indonesia

In Indonesian formally known as Hari Ulang Tahun Kemerdekaan Republik Indonesia shortened "HUT RI", or simply Hari Kemerdekaan, and colloquially referred by the people as Tujuhbelasan, meaning "the Seventeenth") is a national holiday in Indonesia commemorating the anniversary of Indonesia's proclamation of independence on 17 August 1945. .

Hari Pancasila / The 5 Fundamentals

This day commemorates the five fundamental principles of Pancasila: belief in one God; unity of Indonesia; civilized humanity; democracy; and social equality for all Indonesians. Young children learn these principles by heart.

Galungan & Kuningan

"Galungan is a sacred moment for Balinese Hindus to commemorate the triumph of Dharma (good) over ABdharma (evil).
Beautifully decorated penjor—bamboo poles adorned with offerings—will line the streets as a symbol of gratitude and divine blessing.
Families gather for prayers at home and temples, creating a serene, spiritual, and heartfelt atmosphere.

Nyepi, the Balinese New Year

Nyepi, the Balinese New Year each year is on a different day as it follows the Balinese calendar.
On this day Bali bans every form of traffic and the airport and all harbours are closed.
People are expected to stay inside in silence without any lights at night. Most hotels offer an alternative program within their premesis.
The day before Nyepi there are parades all over the island with self made puppets called Ogoh Ogoh. The Balinese believe they can
capture evil spirits into these puppets and burn them at night on the beaches. To distract new spirits from coming to the island on Nyepi Bali has to be silent 24 hours from dawn till dawn
